Our transcription service can produce an accurate and professional record of your research interviews and focus groups. We have many years of real-world experience conducting and evaluating qualitative research, so we know how things work and what you need.

Intelligent or verbatim transcripts

We can provide intelligent or verbatim transcripts. For most research projects, intelligent transcripts will be sufficient. They are a true record of the discussion, but are cleaned up to remove unnecessary words such as hesitations and repetitions.

Some projects require verbatim transcripts that capture everything spoken, including hesitations, filler phrases, false starts, and repetitions. If required, we can also record non-verbal sounds and pauses. This type of transcript can be helpful if you need to understand not just what was said, but how it was said. Verbatim transcripts take longer to transcribe, so there is a surcharge for this service.

Time-coded transcripts

We can add time codes to your transcripts that allow you to quickly locate specific speech within the audio file. This can be helpful if you need to track down a quote or refer back to elements of the discussion for training purposes. Time codes can be added at specific intervals or at every change of speaker. There is a surcharge for this service.

Multiple speakers

We are adept at transcribing focus groups and group interviews with multiple participants. We can separate one voice from another and unravel those inevitable moments where people talk over and interrupt each other.

Strong accents

We are based in the most wonderfully diverse city in the world (London) so have a good ear for a wide range of accents. We have experience transcribing national and international accents, including non-native English speakers.

Actively listening and getting to know the subject that we are working with is second nature to us.
